Limoges China, Cabinet Plate
The Limoges region of France has long been known for elegant, fine china. The pattern on these pieces is a an abstract form of light purple dendrobiums, accented by scalloped gold painted edged. The makers stamps seen in the photos refers to CFH/GDM (Charles Field Haviland and Gerard, Dufraesseix and Moral) and places these as being made around 1880's-1890's. This was hand-painted and meant to be displayed (in a 'cabinet'). Haviland in France made beautiful pieces that last.
The original gold gilt around the edges has a moderate amount of fading. Two noticeable chips are seen on the front rim. Both are noted with close-up photos.
