The Oncidium Alliance includes a wide range of different types of orchids characterized by slender branching sprays of small flowers. All are native to the tropical areas of the Americas. Some grow at sea level in steamy swamps. Others grow in upland forests, and a smaller group grows near the frost line in the upper elevations of the Andes mountains.
We offer only the warmth tolerant species and hybrids that should do well for the hobby grower. Since most of them have thin leaves, they appreciate a humid environment. They also like bright light. We grow them in a fir bark mix. They also need to be kept evenly moist with perfect drainage.
